Final designs and Evaluation

For my final project I decided to do couple of photography based pieces.

My photography teacher Chris once said, that if you do one boring picture, it probably won't be attractive, but if you do dozens of them and put into a single piece, you might get something interesting. And as Chelsea's kings road is famous for its shops, I took photo of each of them and placed on a big sheet.

I did little of color correction to make it look like an old newspaper stuffed with lots and lots of ads, because I saw similarity in that shops are trying to catch our attention in the street same way as adverts does in newspapers - using bright colors, big letters and loud announcements.

This second piece is a variation of the first one, where I tried to put more emphasis on how all these bright shiny and attractive things, and visuals fills our conscious with a kind of psychedelic way.
I was partly inspired by Dan Mountford's artworks and psychedelic experience.

For these finals I tried completely different approach. I decided to create a brand poster. My target audience would be rich people living in a rich parts of London who often visits different shops.
I was inspired by different ads from expensive fashion shops in Chelsea.

I did a photo session with models using low key light and lens-flares to achieve expensive fashion look.
Then in a very minimalism way I placed logo and a product image

Or just poster that creates that posh look and atmosphere inside the store.

In the conclusion I have to say, that I am very pleased with the work, especially model-photography based one, as I have achieved exact result I wanted, and it is up to industry standard.
I might have been not so good at creating location based images simply because the idea was not good enough, and because I tried to express myself in aggressive way without taking care of any aesthetics and target audience.
But I have to admit that even bad experience is still experience, which shows what are you good at, and what are you not.
